Note: The photographs below are of an immature male which was reared from larva in Dr. Gunther Theischinger's laboratory. We decided to photograph the animal and to publish the photos on our website even though it has always been (and will continue to be) part of our code of conduct not to capture any animals or to photograph animals in captivity. Our reasons for publishing these photos here are twofold; first of all, given the rarity of the species, it is highly unlikely that we would have been able to find and photograph it in the wild in the foreseeable future, and secondly, by presenting our photos here we are giving visitors to our website a rare opportunity to see a live specimen of the species. These photographs are therefore an exception to the rule, and our code of conduct remains in place and unchanged.
